MAYOR FAULCONER SIGNS HISTORIC BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 2017
With a rare unanimous budget approval vote by the San Diego City Council on Monday, Mayor Kevin Faulconer signed the Fiscal Year 2017 Budget of over $3 billion, which marks a doubling of infrastructure funding and near-tripling of road funding since he took office.
MAYOR FAULCONER CRUISES TO SECOND TERM
Kevin Faulconer is preparing for another term as mayor of San Diego. As of early Wednesday, with 100 percent of precincts reporting, he had received just over 58 percent of the vote to top ex-Assemblywoman Lori Saldana, 22 percent, and former Councilman Ed Harris, 19 percent. He needed 50 percent to avoid a runoff.

A group of Republican mayors on Wednesday congratulated San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer for winning re-election. "Two years ago the people of San Diego elected Kevin Faulconer to clean up city government. Voters agreed with his record and vision for 'One San Diego' and rewarded him with a full term as mayor," Fort Worth, Texas Mayor and Community Leaders of America Chairwoman Betsy Price said in a statement.

MAYOR FAULCONER ON TRACK TO IMPROVING SAN DIEGO CITY STREETS
More than 250 miles of city streets have been repaired so far this fiscal year, according to the San Diego mayor's office. The pace is on track to meet Mayor Kevin Faulconer's goal of fixing 300 miles of road during the current fiscal year, and a total of 1,000 miles over a five-year period.

TIMES OF SAN DIEGO: MAYORS DEDICATE CROSS-BORDER BRIDGE TO TIJUANA AIRPORT
San Diego’s mayors and the mayor of Tijuana dedicated the new cross-border airport bridge. The new bridge has increased air passenger traffic by about 40 percent. When talking about Tijuana and San Diego’s relationship, Mayor Faulconer states, “We don’t talk about two different cities, we talk about one region.”
